Chaz Templeton is a 2027 C/RHP with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Roseville, CA who attends Westpark.Features a slender build with good athleticism. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Primary catcher. Use a side saddle setup behind the plate. Still refining footwork out of crouch. Will occasionally get stuck behind the plate. Flashed solid arm speed on release. Recorded a 2.26 pop time. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes an open stance with a wide base. Uses a toe tap timing mechanism into a slight uppercut path. Creates good loft within the swing. Flashed the ability to turn on balls well with the ability to get the barrel out front. Has some power in that direction when on time. More should come as the frame continues to add strength. Als threw on the mound. Righthanded hitter. Maintains rhythm throughout delivery down the mound. Quality athleticism helps repeat the simple delivery well. Leads to a high strike rate with a two-pitch mix. The fastball sat 70-74 mph on a level lane. Gets ahead of hitters often with the pitch. Paired the heater with a curveball that sat in the mid-60’s. Has the ability to land it for strikes frequently. Still developing depth and bite on the offering. Has intriguing traits for a young arm with plenty of time to develop further.
