Andrew Thomas is a 2026 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Climax, NC who attends Providence Grove. Medium frame as a young athlete with some ease to his movements and fast twitch evident at times. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Primary position IF, displaying solid fundamental actions as he works through his angles. Simple and smooth glove work securing the ball with ease. Showed good lateral range, especially to his glove side. Clean midline transfer to short arm action showing throws up to 73 mph across the diamond. Reps in the OF as well, with same athletic actions and quickness to his first step. Arm really showed out here as he ripped throws up to 87 mph back to the infield. Secondary RHP working with an aggressive delivery with high level effort. Generates a FB up to 79 mph through a high 3/4 arm angle and pulls down hard. Does get a bit of head movement at release costing some command. Feel for CB with vertical depth and landed it for strikes. LHH working with an open start and employing big leg lift to get himself going. Gets significant barrel tilt pre-pitch and wasn't on time early in the round. Strength at impact is present, just needs to get on time. RHH with similar mechanics but much better timing and displayed excellent feel for the barrel. Lots of hard impact in the middle of the field with low line drives. Elite performer in the classroom and an intriguing talent to follow.
