Diego A Velez is a 2024 C/3B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Colegio La Merced. Recorded a 7.37 second 60-yard dash time. Larger frame with strength and physicality throughout the build. Primary catcher with good ground gained and a quick release. Popped a best time of 1.97 seconds with good carry and accuracy down to the bag. Arm strength plays from secondary position of the infield with throws up to 87 mph. Right-handed hitter with an even and slightly closed stance to start. Head lean at launch with a leg kick moving forward. Very flat barrel path and swing stays in the hitting zone a long time. Tremendous student.
