2022 California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Collin Miskelly is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Huntington Beach, CA who attends Marina. A bigger and high waisted build with some present strength. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. A primary pitcher that starts from a semi-windup delivery and shows tall and fall mechanics on the mound. Gets down the mound well with a decent stride length and has a slight crossfire short arm action out of a high three-quarter slot. Shows some arm speed and repeatable movements on the mound. Fastball was in the low 80's with some arm side run and was thrown for quality strikes when he doesn't rush his delivery. Change-up was in the mid 60's with some fading action, did a nice job of maintaining arm speed on the pitch. Curve was in the low 60's with slurvy shape. At first base he showed some fundamental foot work while working through the ball, softer hands fielding out front and an above average throwing arm with longer arm action and solid average accuracy. Hit from a wide base and open stance at the plate with a high back elbow. Pull side approach at the plate, gets out front often with a slight uphill bat path. More strength than bat speed in the swing presently, can impact the baseball in the air to the pull side at times. Showing some ability to make an impact as a 2-way player. Great student.
