Matthew Bias is a 2026 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Huntington Beach, CA who attends Calvary Chapel. Compact build with some present strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a narrow base with a well balanced shift into contact, has a slightly lofted swing that gets on plane early and stays there, has some strength at contact, showed the ability in games to stay behind the ball and square it up to all fields. 7.44 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has good fundamentals and good glove actions, gets his feet in good position to make accurate throws, lots of arm strength for the position. Also played the outfield, tends to wait back on the ball, fields it cleanly out front, over the top arm action, makes accurate throws, more arm strength in there with more momentum through his throws. Also pitched, works from a the stretch with a compact arm action and low effort mechanics. Fastball worked in the upper 70's and touched 80 mph with some arm side life. Threw a mid-60's slurve type breaking ball often, tends to slow his arm on release. Also flashed a knuckleball as his change up. Good student, verbal commitment to Pepperdine.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
