Louis Smelcer is a 2025 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Fayetteville, NC who attends Jack Britt. Recorded a 7.78 second 60-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a big frame and strong build. Side saddle narrow base setup working under the ball and gaining ground on throws. Clean exchange to a short arm 3/4 arm slot release with online accuracy. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a full windup belt-high lift and lower 3/4 arm slot delivery from the first base side of the rubber. Direct to the plate with arm side run on the fastball up to 79 mph (1944 RPM). Breaking ball has slurve type action from his arm slot in the upper-60s (1587 RPM). Featured a changeup at 67 mph (1266 RPM) for a three-pitch mix. Multiple innings reliever type with his pitch package. Also worked at first base with solid footwork around the bag and feel for the position. Two-hand funnel out front and throws across the diamond from his catcher's arm slot at 78 mph. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open base and deep hand load before launch. Hanging knee-lift trigger stride with lofted bat path and quick hands. Strength through the zone with pull side impact. Excellent student with a 4.3 GPA.
