Eli Montgomery is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Washington, DC who attends St. Johns College. Tall good looking frame with present strength and room to add more physicality in the coming months. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.51 seconds. Primary position RHP, working from the full windup and 1B side of the rubber. Small side step to abbreviated leg lift before moving down the slope. Hand break at chest into shallow inline arm path and using shorter stride slightly open. Some arm side misses with his FB up to 80 mph with lower spin and sinking type action. Scattered the zone a bit but showed good ability to spin the ball with CB showing late depth. Secondary 1B, playing well in his legs and some hop to his step. Presents glove out front with deeper funnel into full arm path generating throws up to 80 mph across the diamond. Seemed comfortable around the bag making plays. RHH starting a bit open with a good handset and high back elbow. Compact stroke for bigger athlete and gets to impact consistently. Middle of the field approach with hand speed and strength at contact. Will get a touch steep but when on time and on plane the ball jumped off his barrel. Had a couple of loud in game barrels as well. Outstanding student.
