Jacob Rentz is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Mount Sinai, NY who attends Mount Sinai. Tall well proportioned athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Big side step to start his delivery, loads well over the rubber with good balance, gets down the mound well with good direction, very deep arm stroke with a 3/4's arm slot, repeats his delivery well and shows athleticism. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph some arm side running action down and riding action up, commands his fastball very well and locates it to all quadrants, lots of velocity projection here with more strength given his size and present mechanics. Tends to aim his slider with less arm speed and conviction than his fastball, also developing a change up. Good student.
