2023 Coastal Workout Showcase
Gavin Oberg is a 2025 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Fort Mill, SC who attends Catawba Ridge. Medium frame with some projection and time for overall physical development. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.19 seconds. Primary position OF, working methodically through his reps and working the glove out front with late action. Squares up well to throw with deep midline transfer. Very short arm path, creating good accurate throws up to 77 mph with carry. Reps on the IF as well, moving pretty well laterally, showing feel for angles. Two-hand glove work to deep funnel, again making accurate throws across the diamond up to 76 mph here. RHH using a wider stance and good handset at the shoulders with flat barrel to start. Heel turn to load pre-pitch and works directly to the ball. Emerging hand speed with pull oriented approach. Early action at times producing roll over but when on time and in middle of the field we saw his best ball flight. Outstanding performer in the classroom too.
