2022 Sunshine South Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Alan Salazar is a 2023 OF/RHP, 2B with a 5-7 159 lb. frame from Stafford, TX who attends Dulles. Medium frame with compact, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.51 seconds. Hits from upright and even stance, long stride out, inside-out steep swing plane, limited lower half usage at present, showed mostly opposite field approach. Primary outfielder, exaggerated crow hop/leap into throws, showed solid hand actions working through, clocked up to 68 mph on throws. Also took infield reps, shows solid footwork to both sides and has range up the middle, developing feel for changing direction, clocked up to 64 mph on throws across. Also pitched, worked mid-60's and up to 67 mph with his fastball from higher slot, showed slow curveball as change-of-pace.
