2021 Summer Northeast Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Jay Kalathur is a 2022 RHP with a 6-2 140 lb. frame from Chester, NJ who attends West Morris Mendham. From a lean projectable frame, Kalathur ran the FB up to 78 mph on the bump with balanced controlled mechanics out of a high 3/4 slot. He attacked hitters aggressively in the zone with lots of swing and miss potential, flashing cutting action on the heat with an 11-5 curve with solid depth to complement. From the OF, Kalathur kept the ball low and accurate with sound footwork. Offensively, he started from a narrow stance with high compact hands and consistent middle of the field contact. Ran a 7.39 60 yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
