Justin Flaherty is a 2024 LHP/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Clayton, NC who attends Cleveland High. Medium frame with broad shoulders and good projection remaining. LHP, working from the full windup on the 3B side of the rubber, small side step to swinging leg lift to just above the belt. Hands break at the belly into medium inline arm path, as he accelerates through a 3/4 arm angle. Really worked heavily off the breaking ball this outing, landing it seemingly at will. Quality two-plane shape to his CB in the mid-60s with good spin traits and generating a lot of swing and miss. FB with nice life to it as it peaked at 79 mph but displayed well above average spin rates and played well in the top of the zone setting the stage for his breaker. Only flashed a couple CHs in the low-70s with some fade. Attended well to the running game as well, picking off several runners in live action at 1B and a nice inside move at 2B. Quality LHP who has a good feel for what he's doing on the mound and is an excellent student too.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
