Riley Engelhard is a 2028 RHP/C/3B with a 5-10 146 lb. frame from Morehead City, NC who attends West Carteret. Lean projectable frame with plenty of room to add physicality and lots of time to develop. Primary position RHP, working exclusively from the stretch from the 1B side of the rubber. Comes set closed in the lower-half, high handset at the letters and leg lift to the just above the belt. Full inline arm path with the elbow leading to the top of the arm circle and turns aggressively in the core to develop arm speed. Quality 4-pitch mix and landed them all for strikes. FB lives in the bottom of the zone with occasional sink as it peaked at 74 mph and contact deadening spin traits. CB with mostly vertical shape in the upper-50s and
SL with sweeping action in the low-60s. Showed CH with good deception and fading action at the end. Has feel for the mound, works fast and fills up the zone. Velo should trend upward steadily with added mass and time. Secondary OF/IF, working through reps methodically and working glove to the side but securing the ball with ease. Longer arm action from the outfield with throws up to 79 mph and lower arm angle on the infield making plays and showing throws up to 74 mph. RHH working from an even stance with weight on front foot and shifting back to load. Tight handset and length in front arm to set his bat path. Longer path to ball here, and a touch uphill at times with emerging overall power. Actions here and barrel control will grow with strength gains. Young athlete with a lot to look forward to.
