Jonathan Malchow is a 2024 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 192 lb. frame from Argyle, TX who attends Argyle. Primary right-handed pitcher with a physical frame. Throws from a high 3/4 slot and stays in line with the plate. Works downhill with a slight coil at the top of his delivery. Longer arm action with some quickness. Fastball was up to 84 with arm side run. Sequenced in a two-plane slider with late depth and high spin. He was comfortable throwing this pitch to both righties and lefties. Could project for a little more when he tightens up the delivery. Also played first base fielding the ball cleanly out in front. The hands work well and are good for receiving the ball. Needs to work on the transfer and release. Hops off the bag well with quick choppy feet. Ran a 7.63 sixty. Right-handed hitter who starts open in a crouched stance. Inside out type swing that can stay on plane. Good student. Also named to the PG South Central Top Prospect list.
