Mitch Abernethy is a 2024 C/RHP, 3B, UT with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Regents School Of Austin. Posted a 7.78 in the 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, showed younger tendencies in his actions with time to sync up the body. His placement was consistent, soft receiver with a smooth transfer and compact arm action. Also got on the mound, the right-hander topped the fastball out at 75. He mixed a loose breaking ball that landed in the zone. He worked both sides of the zone well. The operation was simple, upright delivery with a short arm action. Effective secondary arm with more to come. Right-handed hitter, more geared to contact. Level plane swing that is on path early. Hands are intact throughout and connects with some impact potential. Good student.
