AJ Minyard is a 2024 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, OF with a 6-1 135 lb. frame from Santa Cruz, CA who attends Los Gatos. Features a tall, slender build with plenty of room to add. Ran a 7.81 60-yard. Charges the ball well with solid glove actions throughout outfield drills. Long arm action throws lead to solid accuracy. Adding strength to frame will help carry on throws. Showed more fluidity on the infield. Moved well both ways with glove actions that can play. Utilizes same arm action on the dirt. Uses a wide base stance in the box. Simple load allows head to stay still throughout swings while still showing a fair amount of looseness. Stays through the middle of the field well. Getting the lower half more involved will help power down the road. Showcased a projectable arm on the mound, as well. Utilizes a tall and fall delivery with a long, loose arm action out of the 3/4 slot. The fastball sat in the low-70’s, topping out at 76 mph, with some armside run. The right-hander paired it with a mid-60’s curveball that features 1-7 action. The offering flashed depth when thrown with conviction. Has a solid foundation overall with room to grow physically and mechanically. Very good student, as well.
