2023 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Jake LaPorte is a 2024 RHP/UT with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Pittsburgh, PA who attends Keystone Oaks. Tall medium size frame. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a balanced delivery, drop and drive mechanics and a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball topped at 82, showed a curveball with gradual depth in the low 70's and a splitter with late drop that looked like his best pitch. Some deception in the delivery and a solid average strike thrower. Corner infield type actions as a position player, feel for taking angles to the baseball laterally, works though the baseball with the glove and shows a solid average arm on throws across the diamond. Right handed hitter hit from a slightly open stance with hover stride timing. Drops hands swings uphill, stays compact, gets on plane and handles the barrel well when on time, limited extension through the baseball, some strength in the swing to create impact and an all fields approach.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
