Jacob DuFrene is a 2023 C/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Santa Fe Springs, CA who attends California. Physical presence on the field. Defensively, the actions behind the plate are advanced with clean receiving ability, sound footwork, and strong accurate arm down to second. Works hard to throw downhill. At the plate, he sets up with medium base and high back elbow. The load is a big leg kick but gets it down on time to creta loud pull side leverage. Ample feel to back spin the gaps with frequency. On the mound, Athletic Built RHP , with powerful legs. Hands start high with a full turn, to hide a deceptive delivery. Fastball has two looks one that has a little armside tail, the other more straight with good depth. Loved the fastball look to the outside corner, good down angle, that was almost impossible to hit. Slider has some nice shape that will improve with more work. Slider left the hand and immediately turned left, had some depth. Moved around with athleticism, has much upside for the future. 7.37 60-yard. 2.00 pop time.
