James Kershner is a 2022 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Hagerstown, MD who attends South Hagerstown. Kershner is a primary RHP who works exclusively from the stretch, using a high 3/4 arm slot and solid drive out of the lower half to generate downhill momentum well. He ran the gun up to 80 mph, throwing strikes and sequencing well with a slurvy breaker displaying both vertical and horizontal tilt. Velocity could still develop and project. From the IF, Kershner was a high effort player with flashes of range up the middle with accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, he started from a narrow stance some good lower half rotation to produce solid contact. Power potential still has room to grow. Ran a 7.97 sixty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
