James Powell is a 2026 RHP/1B, 3B with a 5-10 194 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Windward. Medium frame with width and girth currently; can tighten and shape as he matures. 8.58 60-yd. Showed solid skills at first base and the actions to keep improving at the position. Worked with clean glove actions and ability to come through the baseball on time; flashed solid lateral range and moved well for the size. The arm was accurate and fair in strength able to execute the throws needed now. Works from an even base lifting and placing the front foot as the hands load back. Contact focused hitter using the entire field and consistently found the barrel. When he stayed compact and direct, more came from the barrel.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
