Mario Torres is a 2026 C/1B, OF with a 5-10 176 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. A medium build and a frame. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with open feet as he sets up. Gains ground well coming out of the crouch. Has a shorter release and quicker arm stroke to get rid of the ball. Threw 65 mph down to second with a 2.22 pop time. A right-handed hitter with a wider base as he sets up. The hands are set high, and the back elbow up. Strong look in the batters' box. Spread and open. Was able to show off some hard-hit line drive contact to the pull-side during his round of swings. Hands start high and work to it, looking to drive the ball pull-side in the air. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
