Nick Jodway is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-0 209 lb. frame from Morganton, NC who attends Jimmy C. Draughn. Medium frame with a solid, strong build. Ran a 6.50 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to leg lift delivery. Stays flexed on back side at gather and utilizes lower half well while working to the plate with drop and drive actions. Front side will vary with landing point and momentum tends to carry off to glove side at release. High energy, compact three-quarters arm slot that produced a fastball that really jumped on hitter with heavy actions to the plate in the low 90's, topped at 93 miles per hour. Fastball flashed occasional running action to arm side and showed good feel to work down and to each edge of the plate. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a breaking pitch, produced good sweep and late tilt when maintaining arm speed and working to release out front. Consistently attacked hitters with fastball early in counts with the willingness and command to pitch to the inner half of the plate. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball and showed good arm strength from a low three-quarters arm slot. Topped at 93 miles per hour creating good on line carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance. Stacks weight on back side and works to contact with rotational actions. Flashed quick hands through the zone with present bat speed while turning the barrel to contact and working to the pull side gap. When on time and squared, ball jumped well with solid carry.
